Your First Visit
The first step is the initial exam. At this appointment you’ll meet Dr. Robb and our staff, and have the opportunity to discuss your concerns. We will then gather the necessary personal information and preliminary clinical information required for us to make a recommendation. We will explain the orthodontic process and the many orthodontic options available. If you are ready for orthodontic treatment, we will take what is referred to as orthodontic records.
Records are necessary prior to treatment in order to prepare a case analysis and a comprehensive plan for treatment. These records consist of impressions for models, photographs and x-rays of your teeth. Dr. Robb takes the least amount of x-rays of any orthodontist in the area.
We will provide you with a computer simulation of the treatment options available to you. During this case presentation, we will be discussing all future treatment objectives and the orthodontic method by which these goals will be accomplished. Both the patient and parent of our younger patients (preferably both) should be present at this time, since the responsibilities of all parties involved will be discussed. Dr. Robb and our treatment coordinator will review the entire diagnosis and plan for treatment with the family.
